Judgement Day

8cers against Bullets. With both teams having the same point, this was definitely the game that will decide who will get the second placing in Division Two and probably might be promoted to Division One in the next season. It was Judgment Day for us and we came with high spirit for this match.Although we have lost the champions title to Dalat, but it was not the end of us in the league.Every players were eager to be promoted to Division One the next season. There were a few changes made to the lines in this game and we were without our veteran player, #7.Ken Wye.We went out with an aim not to score many goals but to play floorball and have fun. #20.Oliver although being sick during that game,he still took over his role in the captain armband and stressed that we play hard and play smart in this game.First line went out into the court hoping that dejavu will not strike us again this time.It took us quite a while before we finally scored our first goal against Bullets and it was #4.Ter Min who once again found the back of the net with his famous drag shot.Soon, #10.Joon Han double up the lead for us as he scored his second goal of the league unassisted. We were comfortable from that moment as we were controlling the game and then Bullets came up and scored a goal against us.It was enjoyable for Bullets but it was not a good one for us.However, #47.Calvindev took away their joy when he scored his first goal of the league.End of first period,3-1 to us.

Second period came and it was not long before that #4.Ter Min who was a goal scorer came up and assisted #17.Jo-Wyee to score a goal with a wrist shot into the net.It was definitely a precious moment for him and he did the trademark "sea-side dance" which left the crowd cheering for him. Then,it was another moment for #47.Calvindev again as he scored another goal with a shot into the right bottom corner of the post.It was definitely his day as he just bought his first Salming stick on that day which turns to be his scoring weapon.Just moments before the end of second period, Bullets took home a consolation goal and that makes the score 5-2 to us which marks the final score of the game.We definitely played much better in this game and to me it was our best game so far.Although we didn't scored so many goals in that game, we played floorball and there were many good team play in this game.Kudos to all the players for their teamwork! With this win,we sealed the second placing and a chance to be promoted into Division One the next season.Once again, our captain's word proved to be right.Play hard and play smart.=)

My Experience with the Nomads.

Floorball. From Penang to Singapore and this year it was in Sabah.Recently,I was on a holiday trip to Sabah and I managed to hook up with Nomad Floorball Club which was one of the top two clubs in Sabah. The first person I met there was Leonard which was their vice-president.I guess he expected to meet somebody much more older than me.I met him in a place called Centre Point and he took me around his church which was the d'Stream Anglican Church situated there. After that,we went for training in SM All Saints and the training was held in a hall which is the size of four badminton courts.Much more bigger than than Ztec's training at Red Crescent Headquarters.I was then introduced to all of their players as Wilson and for the first time nobody called me Moy the entire time in Sabah.Wasn't really used to it.LOL.Started training with some runs and warm-up which was the usual thing to do before any training. After that,we did some passing and drills. And then, the big man came and it was their president Shawn(I guess he also expected to meet somebody much more older than me).It was like Sir Alex Ferguson making an entrance as he was wearing a coat and everybody clapped when he came in.You don't get that kind of entrance in Penang. He was actually having his company annual dinner before that which was the reason he was dressed so smart. At the last half an hour of the training,I had the chance to play a game with all the players. They actually have 3 goalies in their club which was a good thing and we managed to play a game with 2 goalies aside.Their goalie,Leonard shares the same name with Ztec goalie and they are both the number one goalie as well.=) After the training,we went for supper in Damai and then Shawn plus Leonard fetched me back to my place in Melinsung Beach. It is like from Butterworth to Dalat which is actually very far. Thanks for the ride guys.=)

The next day,I went to their church for the Easter Service and then to another training with the team again later in the afternoon. We played at a smaller place this time which was equivalent to the court in RC Hq.Did the same thing like what we did in training yesterday and then we played a game.I was playing as a defender in the beginning but Shawn insisted that I'm playing forward together with him and John.It was a good thing as well because I haven't been playing as a forward for a very long time.It was a good game and I enjoyed playing with them.It was certainly a great experience playing floorball in East Malaysia and it is good to see the sport growing over there.I believed that Nomad Floorball Club will definitely improve in the future and I wished them all the best in their upcoming league. There were also plans for a Ztec against Nomads match already which I hope will be carried out someday.I would like to thank everybody especially Shawn and Leonard for their great hospitality while I'm in Sabah. It has been a pleasure to play with the Nomads and I'm definitely looking forward to play with them again in the future.Happy floorballing!=)

World War II

Clash of the Titans!Dalat Eagles against Ztec 8cers.It was definitely game of the season for Division Two with the two teams competing to earn the champions title.Dalat Eagles certainly had the advantage as we lost to them 4-3 previously. We were also without #3.Kenny Chong as he suffered a groin injury.Nevertheless,we were all ready to give everything we have in this game and to show them who we are. This time around, our players were a little bit more "gentle" as the previous match against them was like in a war zone. The first few minutes was intense and dejavu hit us again. We conceded the first goal which happened in the previous match against them as well. The Eagles were confident from that time but we managed to draw level to 1-1 after a goal from #17.Loh Jo-Wyee.We had many chances but it was all saved from their goalie,Edwin which was on top form during that match. Our goalie, #1.Leonard did a good job as well saving many shots from the Eagles. However just before the end of first period,Eagles scored their second goal which led them to a 2-1 lead against us.

Second period began and we were all out searching to score more goals. And then, #4.Ter Min did a great job by scoring his first goal of the season with a shot into the top left corner.Dalat Eagles managed to come back with a goal again but we were giving them a hard time when #4.Ter Min scored the equaliser against them.He was definitely on top form scoring all of his goals with his famous drag shots.Once again,Eagles were not ready to lose the title and they were also playing at their best in this game.#6.Sherwynd was also penalised for 2 minutes twice after an incorrect distance foul and a pushing foul.It was a bad day for him but he did his best in this game.8 minutes left in the second period and Eagles were leading 6-4.We still did not gave up and gave everything we have.It was not the end for #4.Ter Min as well as he took his goal tally to 4 goals after scoring the 5th goal for Ztec. The game ended 6-5 and although we did not win the title,I am still proud of every players for giving their best in this game and we are all definitely going to improve in our next game against the Eagles. As I said, even number was a lucky number and that proves it as we lost both of our game against Dalat with us scoring odd number goals.Good job to every player and let's continue to play at our best in the upcoming matches!=)

Lucky Number 12

12 is a lucky number because it's an even number. It was definitely proven as we cruised through with a 0-12 win against Frontliners Trojans. We also played with only 12 players in the match as the other three couldn't make it.However,we managed to keep to our game plan and played as a team.I feel that we did improve in this match and there was more teamwork among everybody. There were good passes and great shots taken. We were also happy to have #4.Ter Min back in the team after serving his country and everybody was expecting something special when he's around. And he mark his homecoming with a 2 minutes penalty due to incorrect distance which was indeed nothing new to him as it was his famous 2 minutes penalty foul.Barely just two minutes into the game, #6.Sherwynd open the score line for us with his third league goal.He didn't give a break and scored another goal moments after that. With two goals in hand,he was definitely aiming to get his first hat-trick of the league. And he got it within the first period which marks his fifth goal of the league. There were also two other players scoring their first hat-trick of the league and it was #17.Loh Jo-Wyee and #18.Joel Khaw.End of first period,we led the game 8-0.

Second period came and we were definitely looking to score more goals. We had a lot of chances but it was all denied by Trojans goalkeeper who did a great job.Our number one keeper, #1.Leonard also did a great job and it was his first clean sheet of the league. We managed to score another four goals in the second period which led us to win the game 0-12.It was the first double digit lead of the league as well.It was definitely a good day for us and credits to all the players as they did very well in this game.Everyone had their chance to score but not all went it.Our captain, #20.Oliver managed to grab two goals and #.10Wong Joon Han bagging his first league goal.Overall,it was a good game for both team and credits to Frontliners Trojans for trying their best in this game.We wish all all the best in their upcoming games. As for us,our next match is against Dalat Eagles and we are definitely looking for revenge in this game.Do join us for big showdown on the 18th March 2008 at Dalat starting at 7.00pm.This game will decide who will lead Division Two table and will probably be champions for the Division Two.Let's all give our best in this game!=)

War of the World

Dalat Eagles. Our number one contender in Division Two.The title of the post says it all.It was definitely not an easy game against them but we gave our best in this game.Just minutes into the game,we conceeded the first goal again. It was like dejavu to us.But we managed to came back minutes after that with a goal from #6.Sherwynd.We played very well as a team in the first 10 minutes and eventually we got our second goal from #7.Wong Ken Wye with a great shot into the goal.We were finally leading this game with a goal in hand and then things started to get messy.Due to a miscommunication during the line change,we conceded another goal which drew our game to 2-2.The game was intense and there were a lot of pushing and fouls called by the referee.End of first period,2-2.

Second period came and we went in with an aim to win this game.Everybody was trying their best and there were many great shots but it was blocked by Dalat's goalkeeper. Then,Dalat came back with another goal which was a great shot from the half court. It was then 2-3 and then another goal came from Dalat with a counter attack. Our keeper #1.Leonard managed to block the shot but another Dalat player get the rebound and lob it into the goal which left the keeper jumping into the wrong side of the goal.2-4 for Dalat but we still didn't gave up and we were all eager to bounce back in that game.Finally,#7.Wong Ken Wye which scored the second goal for us assisted our captain #20.Oliver which led him to score the third goal for us.3-4 and the game was getting more intense. Both teams were determined to win the game and there were many great shots from Dalat but our keeper was at this best during that game.Final whistle blew and the game ended 3-4.Credits to the players for doing their best in this game.It was just a goal that separates us with them. Both teams were playing at their best that night. There will still be another away game against them and we are all determined to win that game.Great job, lads! Our next game is against Frontliners Trojans and we will definitely give our best in this game.=)

Face-Off !

Face-off!Our first match of the league and it's against Contact Bullets.Everybody was feeling the tense at the beginning of the game and we conceded the first goal in just the opening minutes of the match. After that goal, everyone was fired up to chase up and #5.Nicky Yeoh scored the equaliser just after a minute after the face-off.We are now even with a goal a side and was determined to lead the game. #17.Loh Jo-Wyee took a shot and it went straight into the top corner. It was a relief to us that time as we are taking charge of the game now.2-1 and our captain #20.Oliver capitalised with another goal which take us 3-1 ahead. The fourth goal came and it was #6.Sherwynd who scored with a shot to the bottom corner of the goal.First period ended 4-1 with us having the lead.

Second period, the Bullets came all out and it was intense pressure to our players. We managed to control the game and many shots were taken but Bullet's goalkeeper was on form saving all of our shots.Just minutes into the game, #16. Moy Wei Sern was penalised for 2 minute after standing in the crest while trying to clear the ball from going in.It was a penalty for Bullets but they were not on target this time. There were no goals scored in the second period and the game ended 4-1.Overall,everyone played well in this game and we are happy to win our first match of the league. We are now currently tie with Dalat on points but lose on goal difference which takes us to second place. It's a good start and I wish all the players all the best in the upcoming game against Dalat Eagles which will determine our position in the table.Come and support us this Sunday at 6.30pm at Dalat Gymnasium. It will definitely be a match that is not to be missed!See you guys there.Blessed week ahead.=)
