''Over The Ant Hill'' Contact Fireants VS Ztec 8cers

Upon arrival at the arena, 8cers walked in together full of confidence, motivated with high spirits, with the urge to get the game going, ready for battle. Thus, warm ups began. With a few passes followed by warm up drills the team prepared their minds and their bodies for what might have been one of the most grueling and demanding matches to date.

So it begins...The whistle blows...The team huddles up...

The coaches gave some last minute words of encouragement and reminders of tactical play ups as well as strategies. Hands held high as one team, and with a thundering roar....WHOOSHH!!

The game starts...

It has been a custom for Ztec as whole to start a match at a very slow pace. It has happened many times, noticed by many people, but the tables have turned. Ztec started with a burst of energy, fast as lightning, the sleeping lion has awakened, bagging 2 goals in the 1st minute. An awesome start from Ztec and goals by Jo-Wyee and Ter Min. After much celebration, the game resumes.

The pace of the game and the game itself was controlled by Ztec from that point on, leaving Contact rendered. However players from Contact fought back amazingly giving Ztec a very physical and demanding game. That shows the respect both teams have for each by going all out. Good job Contact Fireants!! Unfortunately, Ztec speed and agility outplayed the opponents. Still in the 1st period of the match, Ztec scored 2 more goals, one from Jo-Wyee and a volley from Oliver assisted by Jeremy who took a shot from half court.

8cers' line 2 did an amazing job at defending and sticking with their opponents giving them a tough time of scoring. Sjaiful, Hafidz, and Daniel Cheah controlled the game from the back, waiting for oppurtunities to play the ball up. Upon receving the oppurtunity line 2 burst and countered their opponents but were unable to put in the ball at the back of the net. Moy, Ken Wye and Sherwynd gave their all at retreaving the ball and trying to score and that is what the coaches want to see, the heart and the determination.

Contact managed to score a goal, however it was disallowed by the referees due to a foul commited the shot was taken and the whistle being blown. Kudos to Contact for trying.

2nd Half..!!

After some words by the coaches and senior players, Ztec was all pumped up with their minds ready and the hearts wanting the win. It was Ztec 8cers objective to score 7 goals that night. And managed to do so. Jo-Wyee being the rebounder followed the game plan and played high up in the opponents court, with that managing to score 2 more goals assisted by Ter Min for the team. Apart from that, the night wasn't over. We knew we could at least salvage one more...AND WE DID. A tremendous solo effort by Jun Wooi placed the ball in the goal. And there you have it, 7 goals scored just as we planned. All play ups and free hits were pre-planned and carried out to perfection. Kudos to ''The Merdeka'', although not a goal, left the opponents dumbfounded and lost for a split second, almost conceiding another goal, but only managed to hit the side netting.

Looking forward for more...!!

To all players, great job and great effort!! To the KL players who came down specially to play we owe you a great deal of thanks. Cant wait to play again. To Adrian, Jack and Teik Hong and everyone who helped, terima kasih banyak-banyak. To ZTEC supporters, although few and limited sound levels, we appreciat your presents there. We played for you, we played for ourselves, and we played for ZTEC. One...Two...WHOOSHH!!
