News from USA: Jeremy Yeap

Ztec has taken time to interview 2 of our key players who are currently in the USA. This is an interview between Ztec (Z) and Jeremy Yeap (JY).

Z: How does it feel to be back in the USA?

JY: Mixed feelings. Good because I'm away from the haze and humidity. The air is fresher here. Bad because coming back means holidays are over and it's all back to study, work and more study!!! The worst is there's no more floorball and even if there is, it is mostly played by myself and perhaps together with my dog.

Z:The league in penang has ended, how did u team 8cers performed in the league? Any words of encouragement to this team?

JY:I think the team did a great job and we manage to hit all our targets and goals set for the league. However, I do believe that we could have done better if players could train together more and know each other's style of play more. Ztec might have won the league, but that's not something BIG to shoutout because Ztec will only and always be Ztec unless everyone train harder TOGETHER as a team and beat ourselves then only can we move up to the next level and make a difference in the floorball arena. Winning the league is a road block for the team. That's perhaps the furthest we can go. BUT, we can go beyond it if EVERONE in Ztec can work together by playing together as a unit and dare to be different than others. Thus, let us all go a distance together and be a history maker in floorball.

Z:7 goals conceded in 5 games for Ztec. How do u feel about this? Is it a good thing or a bad thing?

JY:Well, Coach Termin's target was 8 and my target for the team was 10. So, I guess we've hit our target. I felt that we did pretty well because we focused alot on scoring and many times we only played with one defender, but yes, we could have done better. simply because some of the goals conceded was really a give away goal by our defenders and goalkeeper. Those goals shouldn't have gone in at all, but crappy stuff does happen sometimes. Nevertheless, I would say it happened for a good cause for the team because it enabled the team to learn what not to do in the future. If mistakes wasn't done, then I believe there won't be any lesson to learn anymore.

Z: How far can this Ztec8cers team go in terms of achievements?

JY:Like I've said, winning the league could be a road block for the team because what more can you get after being 1st? 1st is 1st. Everyone wants and aims to be 1st. Is there anyone out there aiming for ZERO? Thus, i would say that it's really difficult for Ztec8cers to improve and go far after this. Unless we all come back down to earth and aim for something else, which is to develope a team of new breed that can play beautifully together as a team and not individually.

Z:Lastly, any words of encouragement to the players in Ztec?

JY:There's only TWO things that could happen to you. Number one is to let others be better than you and defeat you or number two, train harder and defeat yourself. I choose number two. What about you?
